| This course provides a practical introduction to the use of various machine learning methods for data analysis in physical and chemical analysis and measurement technology. Examples are the evaluation of optical / NMR spectra to determine concentrations of different components or curve fitting and parameter determination, e.g. for X-ray data. Various methods of machine learning are covered, including neural networks in particular. Classical methods such as principal component analysis (PCA), which are often a first step in data preparation for neural networks, are also discussed. |
